The Madwoman of Preacher’s Cove may not be so mad after all. In her silence, the madwoman, Lucie Addams, uses art as her form or communication. She crafts life-like dolls resembling many of the children in Preacher’s Cove.
Preacher’s Cove Looks Better in the Eyes of Child
Those beautifully crafted dolls hold significance to the solution of the story. Perhaps they are inspired by childhood memories. How could there be any connection with the lightning strike incidents?
Are the mysterious deaths connected to Lucie and her sister, Libby? Are these deaths which seem to be caused by lightning truly accidental? Or could they be subtle, paranormal murder, connected to the long-hidden, dark secrets? Why is Lucie the Madwoman of Preacher’s Cove? Or is she really the madwoman?
The Addams sisters’ dark secrets have significant connection with the investigative reporting team operating in Preacher’s Cover. They are in town to get the low down on those deadly lightning strikes. But, does anyone on the team have long forgotten ties to Preacher’s Cove.
In Preacher’s Cove the madwoman may not be so mad after all. In her silence, the madwoman, Lucie Addams, uses art as her form or communication. She crafts life-like dolls resembling many of the children in Preacher’s Cove.
The Madwoman of Preacher’s Cove Dark Secrets of Childhood
There are darker things going on with those secrets. The finger of guilt will point in almost all four directions before the truth comes out. The lives of the good guys are in the hands of the angels. The bad guys are wicked beyond imagination.
The dark secrets are buried in childhood memories. Kids are resilient. They can appear to forget until the lights of justice turn on.
What I like About The Madwoman of Preacher’s Cove
I always like this author’s lyrical writing. First off, the book is a pleasure to read. She manages to tell a very good story with no profanity, vulgarity or bodice-ripping erotica.
There is an element of mystery through to the end. Lucie is so mysterious as to almost be unsympathetic. All of that changes as the book progresses. There is light romance which adds to the believability of the characters. As the characters come into their own, one realizes that there are people out there who will take advantage of you. People who don’t mind hurting you.
While there are paranormal scenes, they are spiritual and angelic, not shape-shifting wolves or mutant ghouls.
Joy Ross Davis writes angelic, inspirational fiction

This new rendition is a real jewel in the collection of Joy Ross Davis
Angels and paranormal events flow through the stories that writes for her readers. The angels show up in everyday life, quite comfortable in their tasks. These angels may have a battle on their hands, but they are strong and in the right. Joy’s writing isn’t marketed as ‘spiritual warfare. Yet, the strong action reminds this reader of that warfare between good and evil.
Joy’s lyrical style flows through the story creating the most pleasant reading memories. She is comfortable in contemporary scenarios. Readers can see that ease in Madwoman of Preacher’s Cove and Peaches and Lace. The Witch of Blacklion tells us of 19th century history in Ireland. Joy’s first novel, COUNTENANCE is set in both past and present.
