I learned over at Ozarks Mystique about this extra fun way for authors to make connection with readers, especially for their e-reader books about these other locations where you can learn more about digital autographing. The Author in the Mirror and Bar JD have posts about Authorgraph.com and the opportunity for readers of e-books to connect with the authors and get a digital signature for their e-reader. Signing Autographs | Authorgraph.com Works for Authors and Their Readers and Author Signatures for Your Favorite E-Book
When I first saw the system, it seemed a little clunky and promising to be a confusing nuisance for both authors and readers. A client/author of Bar JD through The Author in the Mirror asked for another look at the system. I’ve become more convinced of the potential usefulness and just plain fun to be found for both authors and readers.
An artist brings a creative essence to the ‘fans’ regardless of the art form. People want contact with their favorite author or other artist. Autographs are a tangible form of that contact.
I tested the process with an account of my own at Authorgraph.com and promptly requested an authorgraph/autograph from a favorite author, Joy Ross Davis because her newest novel COUNTENANCE was listed on the site. The site sends a notice to the author that an autograph has been requested. When the request is granted, the reader receives a notice and a page turns up on the e-reader with the message and signature sent from the author.
Many of the books reviewed on this site are e-books and are eligible for listing on the website. I’m pleased to learn more positive information about Authorgraph.com and look forward to receiving more digital autographs from authors.
