Epilogue - But Not a Postscript
My former neighbor (I came SO close to writing — “My Old Neighbor”, but that isn’t accurate. K.D. McCrite used to live right across the gravel road in Missouri, but she’s quite young at heart)
Back to Epilogue: K.D. McCrite has brought readers a new, real treat! A new publisher is offering this book. The story brings in views of mystery, grief, and self-identity. Add a platform of treasure and paranormal, ghostly activities.. Romance is a lovely thread throughout. The protagonist couple have an unusual future.
When Life Takes Twists and Turns
Epilogue’s main character, Cassie, is thrust into a strange new world for which she is ill-prepared. Her aunt and uncle have raised her from early childhood, using bullying, mean-spirited ‘parenting’. She has been limited in contact with other people in the community. Alone for the first time, she must confront the resurgence of a terrifying threat from her past. She deconstructs the fears and patterns she’d been forced to learn. To reestablish her life, she builds meaningful connections, secures a fulfilling job, and revitalizes the secluded old house she has always called home. Amid these changes, she finds herself entering a captivating and mysterious romance, bringing her a sense of happiness despite not fully understanding it.
Just when Cassie believes she has found her footing, life takes an unexpected turn, and her world changes once again. This time, each layer of everything she has ever known is peeled away. Cassie must confront not only the physical dangers posed by a lunatic but also the revelation that her friends, her work, her home, her town, and even her very existence are not what she believed them to be.
Within her tumultuous existence, Cassie harbors a deep, profound yearning for the “happily ever after” she’s read about in books, a life where she can find peace, comfort, and happiness. But if such a life exists, where does she find it? Just about the time I thought this story was going to morph into a ‘nice’ story, the author gives the tale a new twist! I don’t know how Cassie can keep track of all of the things happening to her. All things, each and every one necessary for her maturing and fulfilling her dreams.
When Good Writing Comes Your Way
Readers will find Cassie, an old soul in a young, lithe body, a sympathetic character. She meets every struggle with firm determination until she finds her place in the universe. The author brings Cassie’s personality to the surface with eloquent writing. You can see K.D.’s love for words
K.D. McCrite writes books that show the inner characteristics of the people who populate her stories. Very sensitive and insightful. She’s been writing since childhood/ Publishing opportunities have been spread over time. This new book is based on her personal experiences and memories. The topic revolves around books and libraries, both favorite things and places for K.D.
I recommend her stories, especially this newest addition. The mysteries she wrote for Annie’s Mysteries are beautifully written and produced. Her youth series featuring April Grace as she grows up in the 1980s is priceless! Don’t deny yourself plenty of good reading! K.D. lives and creates stories in Arkansas these days.
